Summer Operations - Bike Mechanic - 2024
Skiers and boarders will depart Coronet Peak, and that’s when our mountain bikers and hikers arrive. We aim to give them the best experience on our mountain!
This summer season, we are looking for enthusiastic and reliable people who are not afraid of a little hard work, in return for some fun times in one of the best offices in New Zealand. You could be swinging a lift chair, a shovel, a cup of coffee and driving a bike shuttle, all in a week's work.
This summer season, we are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable bike mechanic who will look after our rental fleet and provide repairs/services for customers at Coronet peak
About the role
- Perform regular maintenance and repairs on our rental fleet
- Conduct inspections to ensure all bikes are working well and safe for use
- Keep records of maintenance and repairs performed on each bike
- Assist walk in customers with bike rentals and provide recommendations based on their needs and skill levels
- Assist walk in customers with bike repairs and resolves customer issues or concerns promptly and efficiently
- Prepare bikes for pre-booked rentals
- End of day cleaning and pack down
- Learning both Indoor and Outdoor Operations as you may be obliged to work in these departments as and when is necessary
About You
- High level of accountability for self, able to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong customer service skills and an ability to interact and build rapport with a diverse range of customers
- Good problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- An understanding that employment is subject to the vagaries of the weather and the hours of work cannot be guaranteed
- An active mountain biker
Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience as a bike mechanic or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of bicycle repair and maintenance
