Skiers and boarders will depart Coronet Peak, and that’s when our mountain bikers and hikers arrive. We aim to give them the best experience on our mountain!

Our NZSki community has been growing since 1947 and continues to offer the best experience for our crew, locals, and guests alike. Everyone at Coronet Peak, The Remarkables and Mt Hutt cares for the mountains and shares a passion for snowsports and the surrounding regions. The priority of Trail Safety is to ensure a safe and enjoyable mountain environment for all guests and staff by maintaining the highest possible standards of service, safety and professionalism. Our established crew has built a reputation for exceptional service and delivery. 

This will require management of our summer MTB trails, to ensure they are safe for use. Other requirements include administering first aid and pre-hospital emergency care while delivering excellent customer care and service. 

About the role 

  • Manage trail open and closures and ensure trails are signposted accordingly
  • Monitor weather and changes in conditions and maintain records
  • Administer first aid as required
  • Coordinate patient evacuation from the ski field area to the medical centre
  • Administer First Aid
  • Patient Evacuation
  • Personal Security / Mountain Craft
  • Responding to Ski field Area Emergencies
  • Terrain Management
  • Weather Observations/Recording
  • End of day cleaning and pack down
  • Learning both Indoor and Outdoor Operations as you may be obliged to work in these departments as and when is necessary  

About You 

  • High level of accountability for self
  • Advanced technical and applied knowledge skills
  • Previous experience is considered a definite advantage and supporting references must be provided
  • You must be comfortable working in an alpine environment in a variety of weather conditions
  • The ability to MTB expertly in all-weather on all terrain
  • A commitment to ongoing training and development throughout the season
  • An understanding that employment is subject to the vagaries of the weather and the hours of work cannot be guaranteed 

Skills and Qualifications 

  • Qualifications in Pre-hospital Emergency Care or higher qualification
