About The Role

Whitehaven Coal is offering an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Fitter (Leading Hand) to join our team at Tarrawonga Mine. The role involves working on a 4/5/5/4 days and nights roster with 12-hour shifts. You'll be working with an ultra-class fleet of CAT and Hitachi mining equipment.

The successful applicant for the position will either reside in the Gunnedah region or be willing to relocate. Relocation Packages and Temporary Camp Accommodation available. 

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and guide the maintenance crew with proactive leadership.
  • Perform planned, unplanned, and corrective maintenance tasks.
  • Report and follow up on all incidents, accidents, and hazards to minimize and manage risks.
  • Inspect equipment and raise job requests for any defective parts or components.
  • Supervise during planned shutdowns as needed.

What You’ll Bring

  • Certificate III in Mechanical, Auto Electrical, Electrical, or Heavy Fabrication (Trade Certificate).
  • Proven experience with heavy equipment.
  • Effective communication skills and experience leading a team.
  • Commitment to our STRIVE Values: Safety, Teamwork, Respect, Integrity, Value, Excellence.
  • Willingness to relocate to the Gunnedah region (relocation assistance provided)
