Information Technology Officer (Level 2)

The Role
Due to recent expansion and further predicted company growth, Swick requires an Information Technology Officer to work within its existing team at our South Guildford office. The role will include a mix of Helpdesk Operations and Project based work, with the aim of supporting and improving IT systems and networks worldwide. Please note that this role will require travel to various locations, including internationally.
Key Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for the following:
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and networks.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, including desktops, laptops, printers, and servers.
- Manage and monitor network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Provide technical support to users, including troubleshooting and resolving IT-related problems.
- Implement and enforce IT policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance and security.
- Document IT systems, configurations, and procedures for knowledge sharing and training.
- Collaborate with other departments to understand IT needs and requirements.
- Ensure security of IT systems, including data backup, antivirus protection, and access controls.
- Participate in IT projects, including upgrades, migrations, and installations.
- Management of the IT Helpdesk function ensuring Support Tickets are completed in a reasonable time frame.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following experience, qualifications and attributes:
Essential
- Strong technical knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networks.
- Technical knowledge of operating systems, such as Windows, Linux, and macOS.
- Technical knowledge of Microsoft 365 products and the Microsoft Azure stack.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to conform with established policies, procedures and protocols.
- Proven experience in IT support and administration.
- Knowledge of network protocols, security principles, and best practices
- Ability to prioritise tasks and work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proactive self-starter with high level attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Ability to manage flexible working hours and travel requirements.
Desirable
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP).
- Experience working in a Mining Based Environment.
