Status: Max Term Contract Part-Time (70 hours per Fortnight)

Salary: From $80,450 pro-rata per annum + 11.5% superannuation

                 

We are looking to fill multiple Beach Lifeguard positions to work across Randwick City Council’s patrolled beaches from 30 November 2024 to end of February 2025.

We trust you to bring:

  • NSW Waterways PWC Licence
  • Bronze Medallion (Surf) and/or Certificate II in Public Safety (Aquatic Rescue)
  • Spinal Injury Management Certificate
  • Class C Drivers Licence
  • Advanced Resuscitation (CPR) certificate
  • Senior First Aid certificate (Including a Defibrillation (AED) certificate)
  • Experience and proficiency in surf lifesaving or professional lifeguarding
  • High level of physical fitness and health
  • Demonstrated ability and successful experience in working as part of a team
  • High-level interpersonal, communication and conflict resolution skills with a diverse range of people and group
  • NSW Working with Children Clearance

 

Things you will do:

  • Establish a safe environment by inspecting beaches, designating areas, signposting, employing preventative measures to minimise incidents and visible monitoring.
  • Maintain a safe recreational environment by patrolling assigned beach or area, directing the public to ensure correct and safe usage on the beach, making informed assessments of situations, providing first aid, resuscitation and emergency life support as required
  • Rescue, guide and assist individuals and groups in dangerous situations using surf rescue equipment to ensure their personal safety
  • Direct emergency and voluntary services on beach and safety matters to ensure effective coordination of activities
  • Monitor the beach incidents, conduct investigations and take appropriate timely action to address and resolve matters
  • Provide information and advice on surf and beach conditions to the public, present surf safety and resuscitation programs as required and provide good customer service to beach users
