Management Accountant
About our role:
Our Business Finance Team are seeking a qualified or part qualified Management Accountant. We are seeking someone to join our high-performing management accounting team, providing helpful and valued financial support to Avant’s business units, including business planning and budgeting, results reporting and expense management. This will be a full-time, 6-month contract role with potential to extend further. This role is based in our Darling Park, Sydney CBD offices.
The key responsibilities include:
- Assist in preparation of the monthly flash and group results.
- Prepare the consolidated monthly reporting pack which is tabled at the monthly Executive Leadership meeting.
- Assist in compiling P&Ls for Legal Entity reporting purposes.
- Preparation of key month end journals.
- Provide support to the rest of the team during the month-end close process.
- Group allocations.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, studying towards your CPA or CA.
- Have had previous experience working within a Financial Control team and understanding of statutory and legal entity reporting.
- Financial accounting and reporting acumen.
- Ability to use and develop system tools to automate reporting (such as TM1).
- Insurance industry knowledge.
- Strong analytical and modelling skills.
