About the Role 

 

This role has point responsibility for the development of operational plans and ownership of acquisition and retention strategies within the defined State geography, aligned with and contributing towards realisation of the national growth strategy.

This will involve both direct responsibility for sales to high value and/or complex prospects, and responsibility for the medium-term planning and management to budgets of State sales team. 
  

The principle purposes of the position:

 

• Lead the office for the State of QLD
• Drive sales across segments and products within defined State
• Lead State sales team

 

Key Challenges:

• Autonomous role with high level of responsibility and accountability for outcomes within defined State
• People management of the Medical Indemnity team in QLD
• Evolving sales approach in line with the organisation’s evolving products and long term strategy to continue to drive growth and diversification
• Underdeveloped sales tools/systems currently in place

 


Key Accountability for the role includes:

 

• Point person for the office for the State of QLD
• Acquisition and retention of key customers in State / cross sell to existing customers
• Annual sales planning and management
• Provide input into product and pricing design
• Act as escalation point for conflict resolution
• Operational, risk and people management
• Local area marketing and State development
• State stakeholder relationship management / development

 


To be successful you will have:

 

• Tertiary qualifications in a commercial discipline 
• Insurance or financial planning qualifications (desirable)
• Tier I and Tier II
• Successful track record in managing an organisation-wide sales department, or strategic leadership of a State/territory sales team.
• People management experience within a sales environment
• Strategic medium term (one year) planning skills
• Financial and commercial acumen
• Market analysis and understanding
• Stakeholder management, including facilitation/negotiation
• People management
