About the Role

This role is responsible for providing phone based general advice and information to doctors to help them acquire Life Insurance. 
This includes assisting them via the quoting, application, and the underwriting stages, and working directly with BDMs of Australia’s largest insurance organisations. 
The team can offer comparison quotes, and subsequently fulfil sales through the factual comparison service, named LIST (Life Insurance Selection Tool). 
The role can support doctors by offering leading risk insurance products including Life, TPD, Income Protection, Trauma and Children’s Cover. 
Additionally, the role will provide administrative support for Avant Life’s closed book of business.


Key Challenges:

• Developing and maintaining an active prospect pipeline, building awareness, and nurturing leads across short and long-term horizons to support and protect members through cover.
• Differentiating the Factual Comparison products within a niche market.
• Capturing the attention of time poor professional members on issues other than clinical practice.     


Key Accountability for the role includes:

• Managing inbound & follow up calls in a highly professional manner and delivering expert product knowledge when providing general advice
• Triage the needs of customers and identify when a handover to a Risk Specialist is required for personal advice 
• Personally manage and own the insurance quote and application process for members, including administration of Avant Life Insurance policies and compliance requirements across systems used by Life
• Deliver individual sales targets and build Avant Life Insurance profiles in the market, providing input in a team environment aimed at encouraging superior skills and results

 

To be successful you will have


Education & Qualification

 

• Life Insurance or Financial Services (desirable)
• FSR Tier 1 accreditation (Life Insurance and Superannuation RG146)

 

Skills & Knowledge


• Strong relationship building and negotiation skills
• Technical Business Development skills
• Ability to think strategically and analytically
• Understanding of the medical industry or Life Insurance sector market ideal
• Product knowledge and strong business acumen
• Experience in direct sales.
• Capable of building business networks that foster growth
• Highly effective organizational & time management skills
• Stakeholder management


Experience

 

• Developing sales experience and record of success preferably in a medical or life insurance environment
• Strong knowledge of the finance industry
• Membership services experience, ideally in a medical indemnity / insurance environment
• Communication management experience, ideally in a pharmaceutical, professional or financial services environment
