  • You’ll be helping Red Cross to support vulnerable people across Australia.

Role Summary

Australian Red Cross and Northern Beaches Council (NSW) are holding a drive-thru donation event to accept preloved clothing and accessories. Get involved with the community and help divert goods from landfill by volunteering with Red Cross at this one-day outdoor event. Donations collected will help Red Cross Shops raise funds for the humanitarian work of Australian Red Cross, supporting people facing tough times in our communities.

The Program

Red Cross Shops sell new and donated clothes, accessories and homewares to raise funds to help people in need. Each year, we rescue 2750 tonnes of clothing from landfill, give opportunities to 5000 volunteers, and generate funds to help Red Cross support vulnerable people in Australia and around the world. The proceeds from the sale of items support the vital everyday work of Red Cross, providing relief in times of crisis and care where it's needed most.

To volunteer at this event, you should be over 16 years, fit & able to lift bags/boxes from vehicles.

You will be assisting us with:

  • Pack down of the event (tables, banners, gazebos etc.)
  • Removing donations from car boots (some bags/boxes may be heavy)
  • Moving donations to a truck onsite using a trolley
  • Returning trolley to vehicle area to repeat the process.
  • No experience is necessary, and all training is provided.

  • Wear closed-in, comfortable shoes.
  • Wear comfortable clothing (keep in mind it may get dirty)
  • Personal sun protective gear (hat, sunglasses)
  • Personal rain appropriate gear if needed (please check weather forecast ahead of the event)
  • Own dietary-specific snacks if required.
