The program 

The Community Mobilisation Team support Red Cross Branch Members and Volunteers in Victoria delivering vital community programs and services and undertaking fundraising activities.  This is an important role in ensuring that Red Cross can meet the humanitarian needs of the future and build stronger, more connected, and resilient individuals and communities while ensuring our processes are followed.

The opportunity 

The Administration Support Volunteer is a pivotal role within the Community Mobilisation Team. The Team supports Red Cross Branch Members and Volunteers undertake its vital fundraising work. In this role you have will have the opportunity to work on a variety of tasks including managing service milestones; maintaining member records; responding to public enquiries as well as general administrative support to ensure the smooth delivery of community programs, and services across Victoria.

As a member of a small team, you will need excellent organisational skills, well developed computer skills, great customer service skills and the ability to work flexibly and as a part of a team.

Suitable candidates will gain valuable skills and experiences across several different administration functions.

Red Cross will ensure you have training, ongoing support and access to other opportunities within the world’s largest humanitarian network.

As a volunteer, you will help support the work of our members and volunteers across Victoria, by responding to their queries and requests, this enables and empowers them to take action locally and be the face of Red Cross in their local communities.

You will have the opportunity to learn from many people’s diverse history and knowledge, as well as feeling the satisfaction of giving back to others.

 

Application requirements

  • For this role you will be required to undertake a National Police Check, which will be organised through the Red Cross. 
  • To submit this application, you will need to provide a recent copy of your CV and/or provide details for two professional references.
  • The role will also require you to hold or apply for a Working With Children Check. Red Cross can assist you to apply for this check.
