About the role
The Senior Officer Resilience will manage the delivery of a new and innovative community climate adaptation and disaster resilience pilot with the Dargo community in Victoria. The role will support the community to co-design the pilot and undertake community led resilience action through technology enabled approaches in collaboration with the Australian Red Cross Humanitech team.
Day to day, you will:
- Work with the Victorian Emergency Services, Resilience, and Humanitech teams to deliver the project with the community
- Deliver evidence-based and best-practice resources, training, tools, and workshops to enhance disaster resilience within the community.
- Apply a community development approach to build disaster resilience capacity and capability.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have sound discipline knowledge gained through experience in an emergency management role and a proven track record leading strategic projects/pilots.
You will bring:
- Significant experience in disaster resilience, emergency management, or community development.
- Experience in applying technology innovation and co-design to humanitarian programs, services and systems.
- Sound technical knowledge and expertise in emergency services and resilience based projects
- High level of knowledge and skills and in emergency services and disaster resilience and community development principles
- Proven ability to develop and deliver training, workshops, and resources.
- Creativity and innovation - using analytical thinking to support and drive decisions, devising creative approaches to solving complex problems.
- A Working with Children Check, and current drivers licence is required.
