About the role
This role is pivotal in assisting the Senior Officer - Emergency Operations, in overseeing and supporting the delivery of emergency response and recovery activities in the Northern Territory (NT).
The Officer – Emergency Operations focuses on providing essential operational, logistical, and coordination support to ensure compliance with contractual agreements, effective stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement of emergency services.
What you will bring
- Sound administrative and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities during high-pressure situations.
- Communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to assess complex situations and support decision-making.
- Flexibility to adapt to evolving local needs and challenges.
- Knowledge of Indigenous culture and sensitivity to community needs in the Northern Territory context is advantageous.
- Ability to work under general direction from senior employees within clear objectives and budget constraints and work with and support teams and people from diverse backgrounds and create a collaborative working environment
- Ability to manage time, set priorities, plan and organise their own work and that of lower classified staff and/or volunteers
- Sound analytical skills and demonstrated ability to assess, evaluate and solve problems generally found in policies and practices
Compliance Requirements
A clearance to work with children and a Drivers licence is required for this role.

Remuneration from $85,145.84 + superannuation + access to salary packaging.
