About the role
Red Cross provides help and support to refugees, people seeking asylum, people in immigration detention and other people who are vulnerable as a result of migration.
In this you will provide casework support to migrants in transition within a number of programs. You will provide individualised support to clients to identify strengths and needs and assist in setting and attaining identified goals. You will work with other agencies and organisations in a collaborative approach to source appropriate support for clients. Contributing to co-design process and adapting and innovating ways of working, you will work to improve Red Cross’s response to the needs of migrants in transition.
What you will bring
- Relevant four year degree with one year relevant experience or three year degree with two years of relevant experience or lesser formal qualifications with substantial years of relevant experience in Social Work or Social and Community Services (qualifications obtained outside of Australia accepted if certified copy translated to English provided).
- Casework/ case management experience including holistic assessment of client needs and development of case plans
- Experience in working with marginalised people in the community
- Experience in working competently with staff and clients from cultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds
- Demonstrated understanding of how to holistically assess complex client needs, including conducting risk assessments, and developing effective case plans and safety planning
- Working with children check

This role is covered by the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry - Level 4. Salary from $85,145.84 + superannuation + access to salary packaging.
