About the role
The Humanitarian Settlement Program (HSP) provides services and support to migrants and refugees settling in Australia. The Program assists Clients to build the skills and knowledge they need to become self-reliant and contributing members of our society. Services delivered to HSP Clients are determined by the assessment of their needs and achieved through individualised case management plans.
In this role you will support refugees and humanitarian entrants within the Humanitarian Support Program (HSP) with entry-level information, education and practical support. In addition, you will also coordinate, supervise, train and support volunteers.
What you will bring
- Arabic and English language skills (essential)
- Working knowledge and relevant experience in community services and working with clients from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively and diplomatically with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders
- Experience in coordinating, managing, training and supporting volunteers
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Sound understanding of issues affecting people impacted by migration
- Sound understanding of Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Working with children check
- Australian drivers licence

This role is covered by the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award - Level 3. Annual salary $73,823.36 (pro rata’d $29,529.344) + superannuation + access to salary packaging.
