Business Development Manager

Purpose
As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for developing new business opportunities across the Accor Apartments & Realty Queensland property portfolio through business development practices, relationships and proactive sales initiatives. The position will identify revenue opportunities and undertake direct sales activity to convert business.
This is a fixed-term contract role, covering maternity leave from mid-November 2024 until mid-January 2026
Primary Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities for Accor Apartments & Realty
- Follow-up and pass on leads to the relevant account management team (A&R or National)
- Creation of local account footprint for hotels
- Understand the key revenue drivers for the region as well as identify distressed properties regionally and undertake sales call of regional accounts as required maximizing the revenue outcome
- Increase the level of sales and business mix form individual clients, maximizing on every opportunity across all markets
- Pro-active sales focus to maximize leads & opportunities for business
- Research and define new revenue generating niche markets
- Maintain a current and accurate knowledge of competitor products, be able to highlight their disadvantages and promote relevant benefits
- Establish a high profile across the region and with key accounts
- Liaise with all regional tourism bodies from the region as the secondary point of sales & marketing contact
- Provide Regional Director of Performance and/or Director of Sales with a monthly schedule of planned activities including pipeline business being targeted within region
- Provide any client feedback/comments relating to product to relevant General Manager and Regional Director of Performance
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor Degree in Business or similar preferred
- 3+ years experience in a proactive sales role within a similar environment
- Evidenced conversion track record
- Experience in the hospitality/hotel/travel industry is high desirable.
