Purpose

As Duty Manager, you will take the lead in orchestrating the Front Office Team, creating unforgettable guest experiences while maintaining a high level of team energy. Each day in this position promises opportunities where you connect with various departments, coordinate team engagement, oversee staff, expertly manage guest feedback, and swiftly resolve any challenges that arise. Think of it as being the bold captain on a thrilling hotel adventure!

 

Place of Work: Peppers Beacon, 34 Lake Esplanade, Queenstown, 9300.

Hourly Rate: $29.66 NZD Per hour

Employment Status: Full-time (min 30hrs per week)

Employment Type: Permanent

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Take the helm and guide the hotel's day-to-day operations with expertise
  • Lead the Front Office Team like a mentor, nurturing their growth and skill-building in a supportive atmosphere
  • Collaborate with guests, extending a helping hand to find solutions for any challenges that may arise
  • Contribute to roster planning and preparation

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated expertise in Hotel Operations, marked by a vibrant track record of assuming leadership roles as a Team Leader, Supervisor, or Manager
  • Ability to multitask and thrive under pressure, fuelled by epic organisational and time management skills
  • Masterful in the art of both the written and spoken communication
  • Previous experience in a strata management apartment complex with multiple ownerships
  • Sihot Property Management System experience would be a key advantage.
  • Previous Front Office or other hotel department leadership experience would be required.
  • Shift work including early, shifts and late shifts is required.
  • Weekend and public holiday shifts are required.
  • Overnight shift coverage, to support the team when required.
  • Basic Maintenance request from guests would be expected to be attended to as require.
  • Collecting and delivering guest luggage as required for both individual guests and groups.
  • Multilingual would be viewed as an essential advantage, with spoken and written English at a proficient level.
  • Sound knowledge and experience on Sihot Property Management System (PMS) Front Office functions, with additional specific knowledge on Reservations, allocations and inventory management.
  • In depth knowledge of an individual strata property management model and importance of all stakeholders.
  • Experience of financial management in Sihot PMS, specifically of a strata trust accounting environment and individual unit ownerships.
  • Ability to nurture existing and foster new stakeholder relationships, with particular focus on strata owner relationships to support and grow the businesses ambitious plans.
  • Previous operational experience in a similar resort property, in either housekeeping and front office departments would be viewed as advantageous.
  • Display a natural ability to provide a genuine and authentic level of care and empathy when required to connect and enhance the overall guest experience.
  • Exposure to Sihot PMS, strata management and trust account end of month reconciliations and financial functions.
